Our Beachcomber collection is one of our best selling ranges and a collection that has expanded considerably since it was created. Always popular throughout the year the jewellery has a timeless appeal that attracts all age ranges.
With Brighton being our neighbour and pretty beaches such as Hope Gap and Bishopstone nearby we have a strong connection to the coast and there are many great places to visit. The Seven Sisters and Birling Gap are the ideal places for beachcombing and have many rock pools waiting to be explored. This stretch of undeveloped coastline can be a tranquil place to discover the seas washed up treasures.
Inspired by the beautiful beaches that are situated near our showroom and workshop we have been influenced by the shoreline and the pretty artefacts that can be found there. Bear shells, cone shells and tiny starfish are among the finds that the beach has to offer and translate wonderfully into wearable and desirable jewellery.
Delicate shell and seahorse jewellery is a popular choice for visitors to remember their trip to the south coast. The cowrie shell pendants and earrings conjure up memories for many as a seaside collectable from their childhood and the ammonites are instantly recognisable from days on the beach fossil hunting.
At Alexis Dove we have a pretty range of shells and fossils that can be customised into a design unique to you. A mixture of rose and yellow vermeil alongside silver is an interesting way of personalising your jewellery to your particular taste. By adding small semi-precious stones you can add colour or interest to pendants and bracelets. Tiny seed pearls in white or pale pastel shades look pretty alongside clamshells and seahorses and small labradorite and aquamarines add a touch of interest to our mixed seashell pendants.
The trend for the beachcomber look is always popular during the summer months and this year Valentino has been heavily influenced by the seaside for their Spring Summer 2015 collections. Flowing chiffon dresses are embroidered with starfish and coral. Pastel printed jellyfish, shells and fish adorn beautiful summer gowns and even the footwear has embellished seaside motifs.
We love the look that Valentino has created for the summer, and the ethereal pastel colours that are seen throughout the collection would work wonderfully with the coloured gemstones we use in our jewellery. Pale aquamarines, the subdued lustre of pink freshwater pearls and the sparkling beauty of our grey rose cut diamonds all compliment the trend set for balmy summer days. Whether you choose a bespoke ring with these subtle tones such as our blue/green tourmalines or gorgeous sparkling blue sapphires or a pair of whimsical summertime drop earrings with clusters of semi-precious stones we can help create the look that is a key look for the season.
Take your pick from our Beachcomber collection for this summer to be on trend with the seaside theme that is ruling the runways. A jewellery classic that will always make you feel the sunshine!
