Here at Alexis Dove we specialise in unusual and unique engagement rings. Inspired by jewellery from antiquity and vintage engagement rings Alexis has a passion for beautiful and unusual gemstones, which she carefully selects for her designs. Choosing stones for their shape and colour she prefers softer more feminine cuts including old miner cut diamonds, rose cut diamonds, sapphires and rubies and cushion cuts and a particular personal favourite the pear shape. In choosing to use these more unusual stones the rings that are created in our Lewes workshops are each as unique and individual as our customers.
Our latest collection of engagement rings is the Lydia range. Inspired by the prosperous ancient kingdom of Lydia in the western part of Asia Minor, this range symbolizes the luxury and glory of this shining metropolis. In antiquity, Lydia was known for its gold carrying river, Pactolus, and the wealth of the King Croesus. This magnificent city was the first to trade in coinage and manufactured its currency from gold, silver and electrum.
The luxuriousness and opulence of this culture is translated into the decadent feel of the Lydia collection, which make the perfect unusual engagement rings. Beautiful rose cut diamonds surrounded by pave set brilliant cut stones create sparkle and glamour. Smoky grey stones set against rich yellow gold, dramatic black diamonds mounted in subtle white gold and pretty pear shape rose cut diamonds create beautiful unusual engagement rings to be treasured.
Each stone is carefully chosen and selected by Alexis for its unusual colour or cut. Our favourite rose cut diamonds are delicate shades of grey, cinnamon, chocolate and opaque white. Adding the twinkle of brilliant cut diamonds accentuates the prettiness of the central stone and adds a unique quality to your special ring.
The Lydia collection also includes a choice of sapphires for the central stone. There is a wide choice of colours in stock including cornflower and pale blues to raspberry and grey, these look striking as either an unusual engagement ring or a show stopping dress ring.
